Why we built TrueBlue Scout

A small Melbourne business with one job: make checking NDIS providers calm, quick and fair.

In Australia, calling someone true blue means they’re genuine: honest, reliable, the real deal. A scout goes ahead and checks the path so others can travel safely. That’s the whole idea.

It started with a friend of mine, an NDIS plan manager. Every week she checked providers the slow way: one website for registration, another for compliance actions, another for ABNs. Copy, paste, repeat. Sometimes she only found out weeks later that a provider’s registration had ended or a banning order had been published. When an auditor asked what she had checked and when, she had to piece it all together again. Hours of admin she would rather have spent with the people she supports.

I work with data. Listening to her, I kept thinking: these facts are already public, they’re just scattered. What if one calm, simple tool checked them all, for a whole list at once, and only spoke up when something changed?

So I built TrueBlue Scout. It checks every provider on your list against three official sources: the NDIS provider register, the NDIS Commission’s compliance actions and the Australian Business Register. It shows the source and date for every fact, gives you a dated record you can download, and emails you when something changes.

We don’t score providers or tell you what to decide. We show you the facts and trust you to make the call. A fair go for everyone, providers included.

We’re just getting started. Every small detail, from the plain words to the calm colours, is there because your time and peace of mind matter. Tell us what would make your week easier. We read every message.
