Checking providers
What is TrueBlue Scout?
An independent service that checks NDIS providers against official records: compliance actions published by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, the NDIS provider register, and the Australian Business Register. Every fact is shown with its source and date. We are not a government website.
How do I check a provider?
Type the provider’s business name or ABN in the search box on the home page and press Check. It’s free, with 3 checks a day. Searching by ABN is the most reliable, because names can be spelled differently.
Can I check many providers at once?
Yes. On Check a list, paste ABNs (one per line) or upload a CSV from your system. Free checks take up to 5 ABNs at a time, and you can download the results as a CSV. With a plan, My providers keeps a list of up to 300 (Solo) or 3,000 (Team) providers and re-checks it for you.
I can’t find a provider. Why?
Try the ABN instead of the name, or a shorter part of the name. If nothing comes up, the Commission has not published a compliance action under that name or ABN, and it may not be on the NDIS provider register. Unregistered providers can still offer some supports to self-managed and plan-managed participants.
What is an ABN, and where do I find it?
An ABN (Australian Business Number) is an 11-digit number, like 51 824 753 556, that identifies a business. It’s usually on the provider’s invoices, website or service agreement, and you can look it up on ABN Lookup. Searching by ABN is the most reliable way to check a provider.
I’ve used my free checks. What now?
Free checks are limited to 3 a day and reset at midnight (Melbourne time). If you check providers often, a plan gives you a tracked list, unlimited re-checks of it and email updates.
Can I find providers in my area?
Yes, with a plan. Find providers searches registered providers by type of support and area, on a map, and shows their register status and any published compliance actions. It lists facts only: it doesn’t rank or recommend providers.
Understanding results
What does “no published compliance actions” mean?
The NDIS Commission has not published a compliance action against that name or ABN, as of the date shown. It is not a recommendation, and it doesn’t mean a provider is right for a participant: check registration, references and the service agreement too.
What do the types of compliance action mean?
The Commission publishes six types: banning orders, revocations of registration, suspensions, refusals to re-register, compliance notices and enforceable undertakings. Under each provider’s actions, “What these actions mean” explains them in plain words, and the Guide has the full list.
What does “in force” or “no longer in force” mean?
These are the Commission’s own terms. An action is in force if no end date is published, or its end date hasn’t passed. Actions no longer in force stay on the register and we show them for your records.
What is “Things to check”?
Differences between official records that are worth a look, for example an ABN cancelled while the provider is still registered, or a legal name that differs between the NDIS register and the ABR. They are published facts, not findings or accusations.
Where does the data come from, and how up to date is it?
From official sources only. We look for new compliance actions every day (the Commission usually updates its file about once a month), refresh the NDIS provider register about every 10 days, and check ABNs with the Australian Business Register. Every result shows the date of its data.
Why is there no rating or score?
We show official facts with their sources and dates, and let you decide in your context. A single score would hide important detail, and one action doesn’t make a provider unsafe, just as a clean record doesn’t make one perfect.
Dashboard and alerts
How do I sign in?
Enter your email on the sign-in page and we’ll email you a link. Click it in the same browser and you’re in. There’s no password to remember. If the email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
What does My providers (the Dashboard) do?
It keeps your list of providers and re-checks it against the official records for you. You get one email each Monday with what changed (or an all-clear), and a same-day email if something serious is published. Updates shows the last 90 days of changes and registrations ending soon.
How do I add providers to my list?
In My providers, choose Add providers, then paste ABNs or upload a CSV export. You can re-upload any time to update the list, and group several ABNs under one provider name.
What emails will I get, and can I change them?
A Monday summary (what changed, or an all-clear), a same-day email for serious changes such as a banning order, and a reminder if no quarterly review has been recorded for 90 days. You can turn these on or off in Settings.
How do I keep a record for audits?
The Check log keeps every check of your list with its date, who did it and the dates of the data used. You can record a review with a note (for example “Quarterly review, Q3”) and download the log or today’s results as a CSV.
Plans and billing
How much does it cost?
Checking providers is free (3 checks a day, up to 5 ABNs at once). Solo is A$18.99 a month for one person and a tracked list of up to 300 providers. Team is A$68.99 a month for up to 3,000, with 5 users and Market Scout (NDIS market research) for every user included; extra users are A$4.99 a month each. Paying yearly costs 10 months’ price. We’re not registered for GST, so no GST is charged.
What is Market Scout?
Market Scout is our NDIS market research service. It ranks council areas by NDIS participants per registered provider of the service you pick, with 12-month growth, from official NDIA, ABS and NDIS Commission data. The top 3 areas for any service and state are free; buying shows every area, with a CSV. We rank areas, never providers, and it is market information, not advice.
How do I buy Market Scout, and what does it cost?
Three ways, all on the Market Scout page: a one-off Area report, A$38.99 once, for one service in one state, open online for 30 days; Market Scout Partner, A$28.99 a month or A$289.90 a year, for every service, state and area; or the Solo add-on, A$14.99 a month. Team and the free trial include it. You sign in, then pay by card on Stripe. Cancel Partner or the add-on any time in Settings → Manage billing.
I’m on Solo. Can I add Market Scout?
Yes. The Solo add-on is A$14.99 a month and gives you the same access as Market Scout Partner: every service, state and area. Team includes Market Scout for all users, so if several of you need it, Team may cost less. You can also buy a single Area report instead.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 30 days with Solo features, no card needed. Sign in with your email to start. When the trial ends your list and settings are kept; choose a plan to keep it watched.
How do I cancel?
Any time, in Settings → Manage billing, or by emailing us. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
Can I get a refund?
If you’re not happy within 14 days of your first payment, email support@truebluescout.com.au and we’ll refund it in full. After that we don’t refund part of a month or year, except where the Australian Consumer Law says we must.
Where are my invoices? Do you charge GST?
Payments are handled by Stripe, and your invoices are in Settings → Manage billing. We never see or store your card number. We’re not registered for GST, so no GST is charged: the price shown is the full amount.
Can my team use it, or do you have an Enterprise plan?
Team is for plan management teams: 5 people share one list, and you can add more users for A$4.99 a month each. For larger organisations, custom needs or an Enterprise plan, send us a message or book a 30-minute call and we’ll talk it through.
Privacy and your data
What information do you keep?
For free checks, your list is checked and then forgotten. With an account we keep your email, your space’s name and the ABNs and names you add. We never ask for or store participants’ details, so please don’t enter them. Payments go through Stripe.
How do I delete my account or data?
Email support@truebluescout.com.au from the address you signed in with and we’ll delete your account and list. You can also remove providers from your list yourself at any time.
Corrections and contact
I think a record is wrong. What can I do?
Use Report a problem (there’s a link under every result). We check the original source and correct our copy if it differs. If the official record itself is wrong, the agency that publishes it (the NDIS Commission or the ABR) is the one that can change it.
I’m a provider. Can I update or remove my record?
We show what the NDIS Commission and the ABR publish, so changes need to be made at the source. Providers cannot pay to appear, rank higher or be removed. If our copy differs from the official record, use Report a problem.
How do I talk to a person?
Send a message or request a 30-minute call on the Contact page, or email support@truebluescout.com.au. We reply within two business days.
