TrueBlue Scout services at a glance: Plan Scout and Market Scout

All of TrueBlue Scout in one picture: Plan Scout for checking and watching the providers you work with, Market Scout for deciding where to open a service, and the public data behind both.

A builder checks the foundations of the house they are working in. A surveyor looks at the land before anyone buys the block. Different jobs, same shed of tools. TrueBlue Scout has the same split: Plan Scout checks the providers you already work with, and Market Scout looks at where a new service could go.

Diagram: four official sources feed the public facts TrueBlue Scout holds, which are used by Plan Scout and Market Scout

The shared foundation

Both services run on public data, each fact with its source and date:

  • the NDIS provider register (29,488 registrations as at 1 October 2026),
  • the NDIS Commission's compliance actions (4,354 as at 1 October 2026),
  • the Australian Business Register, for whether an ABN is active, and
  • for Market Scout, the NDIA's participant numbers by council area (latest as at 30 June 2026).

Compliance actions are read daily and the register is refreshed every 10 days. ABN checks repeat about every 10 days, and daily for ABNs on a saved list (as at 2 October 2026).

Plan Scout: for the providers you work with

For plan managers and support coordinators.

  • Check a list. Paste or upload ABNs and check them against all three official sources at once. Free for up to five ABNs.
  • Find providers. A map and list of registered providers by service category, with a plain yes or no on whether a compliance action is in force.
  • Dashboard. Save your list and let it be watched. You get an email when something changes, and a dated record of your checks you can download for an audit.

Market Scout: for deciding where to open

For providers weighing a new service or branch, investors and consultants.

  • Free. Live counts of registered providers by state and service, and the top three council areas.
  • Full ranking. Every council area ordered by NDIS participants per registered outlet, with a CSV download.
  • Saved searches and Area watch. Emails when providers join or leave the register in a search you have saved.

The details, and what it can't tell you, are in What is Market Scout?.

Which one do you need?

  • You place participants with providers, or pay their invoices: Plan Scout.
  • You run, fund or advise a provider and are asking where to grow: Market Scout.
  • You do both, or lead a team: a Team plan includes Market Scout for every user. See Pricing.

What none of it does

TrueBlue Scout doesn't score providers and doesn't tell you what to decide. Market Scout ranks areas, never providers. Providers can't pay to appear, rank higher or be removed. Buying a report or a plan never changes what anyone sees about a provider.

Builder or surveyor, you work from the same public facts. You can start with Check a list or the free counts on Market Scout, and How it works explains each source.
